Your booking page always has a Stund address that works out of the box. If you would rather send customers to an address of your own — like oslostyrke.com instead of the Stund one — there are two ways to get there.
You pick one, and only one can be active at a time. That is deliberate: a booking page answers on a single address, so switching means turning one off before turning the other on.
Buy a domain through Stund
The simplest option, and the one to choose if you don't already own a domain. You search for a name, pay for it, and we do the rest — there is nothing to configure afterwards.
- Open Settings and find the domain panel.
- Choose Register a new domain.
- Type the name you want. You will see which endings (.com, .net, .org and others) are free, and what each costs per year. Prices and renewals are quoted and billed in your organization's currency.
- Pick one and fill in the registrant details. Domain registries require a real name, address, email and phone for whoever owns the domain — this is a rule of the domain system, not something we add.
- Pay. As soon as the payment goes through we register the name and point it at your booking page.
It usually takes under a minute before your page answers on the new address. Occasionally a brand-new domain takes a few more minutes to work everywhere in the world, which is normal.
Good to know
Norwegian letters work. tromsøturn.no and tromsøturn.com are perfectly real domains. Because of how the domain system carries these letters, you may sometimes see the technical form of your name written as something like xn--tromsturn-p8a.no — that is the same domain, just spelled the way computers pass it around. Your customers only ever see the normal version.
For .no domains, Norid requires an organization number (for companies) or a personal PID (for individuals from pid.norid.no), plus accepting the applicant declaration. Stund collects these directly in the purchase form.
Connect a domain you already own
Choose this if you already have a domain — from a previous website, or bought elsewhere. Your domain stays where it is, and you add one record that points it at us.
- Open Settings and find the domain panel.
- Choose Connect a domain you already own and enter your domain.
- Log in wherever you bought the domain and add the CNAME record shown in the panel.
- Come back and click Verify.
Changes to domain records take time to spread across the internet — usually 5 to 30 minutes, occasionally longer. If Verify says it isn't ready yet, wait a while and try again rather than changing anything.
Renewals
A domain is rented, not owned outright: it has to be renewed every year or it stops working and eventually becomes available for someone else to take.
For a domain bought through Stund, we handle that for you:
- Automatic renewal is on by default. About a month before the domain expires we charge the card you paid with and renew it for another year.
- You will get an email confirming each renewal, and its price. Domain prices are set by the registries and can change from year to year.
- If the card doesn't go through, we email you and try again over the following weeks. There is deliberately a lot of time built in here so a replaced card doesn't cost you your domain.
- You can renew manually at any time from the domain panel.
Heads up
If you turn automatic renewal off, the domain expires on the date shown in Settings and your booking page stops answering on it. We email you a reminder first, but after expiry the name can be registered by anyone. Only turn it off if you genuinely want to let the domain go.
For a domain you connected yourself, renewals stay with whoever you bought it from — we never see that bill. If it lapses there, your booking page stops answering on it, so keep an eye on the renewal notices from your own registrar.
Using the domain for email too
A domain bought through Stund can carry your email as well — post@oslostyrke.com rather than a Gmail address. Because we hold the domain's records, you set that up from the dashboard instead of learning a DNS panel: there are ready-made setups for Gmail and Outlook, and a place to add records by hand.
For a domain you connected yourself, email records stay wherever you bought the domain.
Turning a domain off
In the domain panel you can stop using a registered domain at any time. Your booking page goes straight back to its Stund address, so nothing breaks.
The domain itself stays registered in your name until the end of the period you already paid for — stopping does not refund it, and does not hand it to anyone else. Automatic renewal is turned off at the same time, so it will simply lapse at the end of the term unless you turn it back on.
What to expect on the plan side
Using your own domain — either way — is included for all organizations. Domain registrations and renewals are billed annually at the displayed retail price.
